European Union Law
The accession of Cyprus to the European Union on 1 May 2004 had an important impact on the Cyprus legal system and was followed by intensive activity to harmonize Cyprus law with the body of European Union Directives and other legal provisions. After accession to the European Union NCI Law Group established EU law department whose members are qualified advocates and legal consultants. NCI Law Group provides advice for the legal procedure at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). At the moment, NCI Law Group has over 100 pending cases at the European Court of Human Rights, representing the interests of Greek Cypriot refugees against Turkey.
